Brief

We were empowered by the client to undertake the complete architectural and interior narrative for a monumental 1,500 m² private residence in Costa Brava. The mandate was uncompromising: to transcend the typical boundaries of European luxury by fusing the spiritual authenticity of Balinese tradition with the structural clarity of modern minimalism. We were tasked not merely with designing a home, but with crafting a legacy - a ground-up sanctuary integrated deeply into the cliffside that offers absolute privacy and a timeless dialogue between the architecture and the Mediterranean landscape.

Concept

Architecture

Embedded into the landscape, this residence redefines Mediterranean living through a precise, terraced approach. Layered volumes and hanging gardens dissolve the boundaries between structure and nature, creating a sanctuary of tactile richness. The facade, echoing the deep orange soil of Costa Brava, lends a grounding warmth to the modern silhouette. It is an architecture of permanence and character—designed not just to be seen, but to be experienced through light, shadow, and ultimate comfort.

Interior

This project represents a sophisticated exercise in curated eclecticism. We have seamlessly mixed contemporary furniture forms with antique treasures, anchored by intricate hand-carved wooden elements crafted in Syria. These artisanal pieces act as a profound cultural bridge, linking the narratives of the West, the Middle East, and the East. The resulting interior is a rich tapestry of elements spanning different eras and cultural heritages, creating a space that feels worldly, collected, and authentically timeless.

Plan and Flow

Defying the conventional vertical build, the architecture is organically integrated into the mountainside, developing horizontally out of the rock face in a complex, multi-level organism. Spanning five floors, the program is designed for both grand entertaining and private sanctuary.

SPA AREA

A sanctuary of profound calm, the spa balances raw nature with meticulous craft. Sculptural, dune-like walls in terracotta and sand tones mirror the coastal landscape, continuing the villa’s dialogue between stone, wood, and light.

Beyond the panoramic pool and mountain-view terrace lies a complete wellness ecosystem: hammam, sauna, snow room, and dedicated zones for fitness and beauty. Subtle, atmospheric lighting ensures a total sensory reset within an environment of ultimate, understated luxury.

Material Richness &

Atmosphere

True to the Tdot.Design philosophy, we prioritized tactile richness and authenticity in every surface. The palette is elemental and grounded: raw travertine, warm timber, and corten steel, softened by artisanal plasters.

Earthy tones and natural light are punctuated by lush indoor and outdoor greenery. The resulting atmosphere captures the serenity of a Balinese retreat, executed with contemporary European restraint.

Horizon Terrace & Pool

Integrated organically into the cliffside, the upper terrace is a private sanctuary suspended between architectural form and the Costa Brava landscape. The design bridges modern minimalism with the rugged character of the surrounding pines, utilizing a horizontal layout to frame uninterrupted Mediterranean views. It is an environment defined by absolute privacy, where contemporary restraint meets curated, worldly details.

creative force behind

I envisioned this house as a rare dialogue between two worlds. I wanted to capture the effortless soul of the Mediterranean - where turquoise waters meet orange soil and green pines - and weave it with the spiritual warmth of Balinese tradition.

I personally orchestrated every layer, from the architectural flow to the curation of unique, custom-made design elements. My goal was to create a bespoke home that is modern in form, yet carries timeless spirit.
